Large Print Medication Labels

Impairment: VISION

Patients with partial vision can find it difficult to discern the fine print on medication labels.

This problem can be offset by printing a pharmacy medication label with much bigger font size and sticking it onto the outer box containing the medication.

Suitable for Medication packaged in a box large enough to take the label.

Patients with XXX type of visual condition.

Points to Note Most pharmacy management software allows labels to be printed in a standard size to make it easier to quickly print and stick on the medication.

For smaller medication boxes, this may obscure some of the warnings and other information on the box. When handing over the medication, the patient should be advised that the full medication information is available on the medication safety sheet inside (though the text of this may be too small).
